Choral Music at Covenant

At Covenant Baptist Church, we believe that it is important to worship the Lord through singing. We provide opportunities for people of all ages to participate in a choral music ensemble. There are currently two choirs at Covenant: Children’s Choir, and Covenant Church Choir.

Covenant Choir

Covenant Church Choir

The Covenant Church Choir assists in leading our worship services on Sunday mornings. In addition, they present special musical services at Christmas and Easter each year along with one non-seasonal musical service in late summer or early fall. All adults are welcome to participate in the Covenant Church Choir. High school students may also participate with the director’s permission. Rehearsals are on Wednesday nights from 7:00 to 8:30 pm in the sanctuary.

Children's Choir

Covenant Children’s Choir

ChildrensChior1Our Children’s Choir is for students who are in grades one through six. This ensemble meets on Sunday nights from 5:00 to 5:45 pm. Rehearsals take place in the children’s department. The Children’s Choir sings throughout the year on Sunday nights.

Hand Bell Choir

Bel Canto Choir

Covenant Baptist also has a five octave handbell ensemble called the Bel Canto Choir. Anyone who reads music may join this group if there is a space available. This choir meets each Sunday afternoon from 4:45 to 5:45 in the handbell room. The Bel Canto Choir plays for our worship services several times during the Fall and Spring semesters.

Instrumental Music

Instrumental Musicharpist

At Covenant Baptist, most of our music is accompanied by piano and organ. However, you can also expect to hear a variety of orchestral instruments. Though we do not currently have an orchestra that plays on a regular basis, we do have several quality instrumentalists who play for our worship services from time to time. The Covenant Choir has also been accompanied by a guest chamber orchestra for some special services. We have utilized instruments such as the violin, viola, cello, flute, oboe, French horn, and harp in our worship services.
